Beginner's Luck

Our first order of business this morning was to walk over to Donut Bar to grab some goodies for breakfast! The shop is located downtown, just a couple blocks away from Fremont Street.

Can't you just hear Homer Simpson uttering the words... "Mmmm, donuts!"

After much deliberation, we selected Oh My Birthday Cake Oreo, creme brulee, blueberry cheesecake, chocolate bar, apple fritter, and Chocolate Euphoria donuts. Then we proceeded out back to the patio area to consume our abundance of calories.

We spent the rest of the morning entertaining ourselves in the casino. Let's just say that some of us did better than others. At least my money lasts a little longer than usual at a $1 blackjack table.

For lunch we made our usual pilgrimage to Monta for ramen, of course.

Lately, R has been watching YouTuber Mikey Chen's foodie channel Strictly Dumpling and saw Sweet Talk featured in one of the videos. Since it was only a block west of Monta, we decided to walk over to check it out. I ordered the mango pudding, which came with mango-flavored boba, and R had the mango roll. Yum - very light and tasty!

Late in the afternoon, after recovering from the stupor of our food coma, M, R, and I went over to the Plaza for bingo. Unfortunately we didn't time it quite right, so we arrived just before the session started and weren't able to find seats together. Since the machines do all of the work, electronic bingo is exceedingly mind-numbing, requiring no effort except psychically willing your spaces to be called and shouting "BINGO" when you have a winning card. Of the three of us, only M, with his beginner's luck, managed to win a small jackpot.

Afterward, we met back up with G and his girls for a late dinner at Pizza Rock, across from our hotel! We ordered a pizza, which we thought was quite good!
