The Friendly Confines

Given that the Cubs are 0-for-6 in games that we've watched in person, it's a good thing that we didn't get tickets to last night's game. Because if we had, everyone probably wouldn't still be buzzing about David Bote's pinch hit, two-strike, two-out, walk-off grand slam to beat the Nationals 4-3!!! HOLY COW!

So we'll settle for a behind-the-scenes Wrigley Field tour today instead!

Addison St. side
We haven't been to the neighborhood since the Cubs started renovations on the stadium in 2014. And it's been even longer than that since we've taken the boys to a game at Wrigley. Wow, so much has changed!

Clark St. side

Our Ivy Tour didn't start until 1:00PM, so we had time to walk around for a bit.

It's been so long since we've been here that Harry Caray
moved north to Sheffield and Waveland!

Of course, the most important stop was the Trophy Room!

2016 World Series Champs!

Because the Cubs weren't playing today, we were able to see the field from the lower level seats...

...the bleachers

Bote's grand slam landed right over there!

...the right field ivy

...the press box

...and the Cubs dugout

Hmmm, should I have Bote pinch hit?

Go Cubbies!
