Water, Rocks, & Snow

The nice thing about booking the early raft trip was that we still had nearly a whole day to continue exploring. So, we packed lunches and headed to String Lake for a picnic.

The kids were in heaven since three of their most favorite things were there… water, rocks, and snow. They could spend all day throwing rocks into any available body of water...

...until they remembered that there was a pile of not-yet-melted snow in the parking lot.

After lunch, we headed down to Jenny Lake, stopping at an overlook. More rock throwing for them, more picture taking for me.

We spent part of the afternoon hiking up to Hidden Falls, although we did take the shortcut across Jenny Lake on the shuttle boat.

As we went higher up towards the falls, there was… you guessed it, *SNOW*!  More snow play for them, even more picture taking for me.

When we got back to the lodge, the dads took the kids to the pool to finish off the afternoon, while the moms got to take a nap do laundry up at Colter Bay. Jess, our rafting guide, told us that the restaurant at Leeks Marina had great pizza, so we headed there for dinner. He was right!

And by the end of the evening, the water level of Jackson Lake was slightly raised at the marina thanks to the number of rocks added to the bottom. So thankful to be blessed with another very good day!
