Home, Sweet Home!

What can I say about today?! We went down for breakfast at the Garden Court Buffet (Portuguese sausage!), loaded up the Odyssey, checked out, gassed up at Costco, and hopped onto I-15 south towards LA! The boys were hungry again by the time we got to Barstow, so we stopped to get something to eat.

Traffic was super slow outside of Victorville (must be the prelude to Car-mageddon!), so we got off the freeway and took historic Route 66 through town to get to the Pearblossom Highway. One of these days we will actually stop at Charlie Brown Farms in Littlerock just to check it out (and get a smushed penny) - but it wasn't gonna happen today because our only objective was to get HOME!

As we drove down the 14 towards the 5, it was so funny to turn on the radio and listen to all the talk about Car-mageddon (this weekend's closure of the 405 between the 10 and 101). I can tell you one thing for sure, we won't be getting back in the car to go anywhere anytime soon!

And after 6146 miles of driving through parts of 15 states, we were finally home!

Still smiling!

Many thanks to our great neighbors and friends who looked after things for us while we were away! We had an awesome trip! Hopefully the boys will always look back on our experiences with fond memories. And I hope you enjoyed reading along as we went. Thanks for coming with!
