I Need Six!

Two seasons ago we took the boys to see the Bulls play the Clippers at Staples Center, but our fanboys have repeatedly expressed wanting to see them play at the United Center someday. So, after we booked our tickets to come back to Illinois to visit during spring break, the very next thing I did was check the Bulls' schedule. They were playing at home on Wednesday, 3/27 against the Heat and Easter Sunday, 3/31 against the Pistons. We were going to be downstate on Wednesday, so the Miami game was out (how much fun would it have been to watch them put an end to the win streak, though?!) But leave it to awesome Uncle K to find tickets on Craigslist for the Detroit game to surprise the boys!

The story he told them was that we were going downtown to visit a friend of his, and that this buddy had a gym at his place. Check out this video of what happened when we turned the corner onto Madison...

As you can see, those were two happy kids! And a grateful mom, dad, and grandpa who got to come along for the ride, too!

We had hoped that Derrick Rose might be back to play in this game and watched him take shots during warm-ups. He looked good, but "The Return" was not going to happen today.

After a really slow start and sitting through three ugly quarters of the Bulls' struggling offense (or lack thereof), the crowd finally got excited when t-shirts started dropping by parachute from the rafters. The season ticket holder next to K just finished saying that she had never seen them land in this section when M managed to snag one! 

But the Bulls eventually got it together in the fourth quarter to take their first lead and hold on to beat the Pistons, 95-94!
