Family Fun

The Friday of a reunion weekend means bowling. For our previous reunions, we've been to the lanes at Sam's Town, Sunset Station, Orleans, and Gold Coast. This year's event was back at the Orleans.

Since I was ready to join the ranks of the spectators, I didn't sign up to participate. But I ended up bowling anyway, having been drafted to replace an injured cousin. Oof.

We were a smaller group this year, but it was still fun to have another opportunity to be together and catch up with the family!

Afterwards, M and two of the other over-21 cousins went dayclubbing at the Venetian. One of M's college friends knows a promoter who put them on a "list", but they ended up having to pay since they missed their entry time.

Meanwhile, the rest of us went back to the Cal to talk story in the hospitality room.

The uncles...

...plus the oldest and youngest 1st cousins

After M came back, we decided to get dinner at Sakana, the AYCE sushi place we first tried to have lunch at yesterday. Because they didn't take reservations over the phone, M and I drove down to put our name in to spare R's dad from having to wait in the heat. Then we came back to the Cal to pick the three of them up. By the time we got back to the restaurant, our table was ready.

Sorry, no food pics today - the sushi was good, but I'd say it fell into the realm of "quantity over quality".

We spent the rest of the evening playing at the tables with the cousins. Even though J is less than months shy of 21, he was able to hang out and talk with the extended family on the casino floor without being told to move along by security. Since he wasn't playing and was wearing a face mask, no one carded him. So happy that he didn't have to be stuck in the room by himself!
