They're Playing Bas-ket-ball

Game day! J's first game was at 11:00AM at the Black Mountain Recreation Center in Henderson. The team played well for the majority of the game, but fell short at the buzzer. Here's a clip of our favorite point guard in action (video credit: M)...

Afterwards the team grabbed lunch together at Steak 'n Shake Straight from Philly. R and J said that the cheese steaks were pretty good, but that the portions were huge. Since the restaurant was crowded with other teams from the tournament, M and I didn't stick around. We grabbed a quick lunch at Subway instead and then drove over to Lake Mead National Recreation Area. We've only seen a tiny portion of Lake Mead from Hoover Dam, so I wanted to take a scenic drive through part of the park since we were so close. That... and get some passport stamps, of course!

M and I arrived back at the rec center just in time for the tip-off of the second game, which started at 3:00PM. This one was rougher than the first. And that's all I have to say about that.

For dinner, the team and their families (along with 3 other teams/families from the same club organization) went to Steak 'n Shake 808 Sushi. They closed the entire restaurant for our group, and we stuffed ourselves with sushi, of course, and just about everything else on their AYCE menu. It was definitely a case of quantity over quality, but we had good service and a great time with everyone!

Ugh, where are my stretchy pants?!
